About Waxing and what are the benefits of waxing?
Waxing is one of the most effective forms of hair removal and far more effective than shaving. Waxing removes hair from the root, it takes longer to grow back, usually around 3 weeks and sometimes longer before you see hair appearing again, wheras with shaving it is only a matter of days. Waxing gives a smoother look and feel. Regular waxing treatments are recommended as with continued waxing hair generally grows back thinner, lighter and more sparse!
How long does hair have to be to wax?
Around the size of a grain of rice, usually the ideal time to book a waxing appointment is approximately 3 weeks after you have shaved.
How long will the results last?
It varies with each person but usually a minimum of three weeks , but it is recommend regular waxing appointments every 4 weeks. It all depends on how smooth and hair free you want to be. It is entirely up to you!
Does Waxing hurt?
Hair is being pulled out from the root, so yes you will feel some pain and discomfort. However you will find as the treatment progresses the pain tends to ease. Also with each waxing treatment it becomes easier to remove the hair and causes less disscomfort. A Pure Touch Beauty uses Perron Rigot wax and using a good quality wax does help and causes less pain.
Are there any reasons why I should not or cannot have a waxing treatment?
A Pure Touch Beauty will be unable to carry out a waxing treatment if you are being treated with any of the following medications:
Roaccutane
Steroid creams
Retin-A
Differin
Retinoid acne products
and are unable to carry out any treatments if you have any contagious or infectious skin conditions.

Waxing After Care
For 24~48 hours after the treatment
Avoid touching the waxed area
Avoid having a shower immediately after waxing treatment and shower in luke warm water for at least 12 hours after treatment
Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing.
Avoid having a bath, sauna, steam room, or other heat treatments
Avoid exposing the area to the sun, sunlight or sunbeds
Avoid gym work, swimming or other exercise.
Avoid applying talc, make up, fake tanning, exfoliating products, or the use of body brush or loofah for at least 12 hours after treatment.
Avoid applying body sprays, deodorants, perfume, lotions or other products to the waxed area.
2-3 days after the treatment
All areas that have been waxed should be cleaned on a daily basis and moisturised to keep the skin vibrant.
Regular exfoliation may be helpful, especially on legs and arms. Highly recommend the use of body brush or loofah to cope with ingrown hairs.
Avoid tight clothing especially in the waxed area. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs.
Your next appointment will be 4-6 weeks after the treatment
Most people find the hair will start to re-grow within 7-10 days following treatment. It will take up to 4 treatments spaced evenly apart for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. The hair needs to be a certain length in order to successfully remove it by waxing. Allow 4 to 6 week before your next appointment. Recommend regular waxing every 4~6 weeks before the hair roots fully develop, so you will have less pain and easily maintain your smooth appearance!
